Siesta

We took today off as we wanted to rest our legs for a planned 18 km hike tomorrow.  There were chores to complete and hikes to plan as well.

Today we lived like the stray cat that lounges on our patio.  There are a few of them around, we always have the black and white one.  Often, there is a heavy curtain hanging outside the door on Spanish houses, this allows one to open the door to let some air in, yet maintain privacy.  The cat is lightening fast and scoots through the curtain to check out our place, this happens every day.  We don’t leave any food out or the cat would likely have its jaws on it.  We usually catch the cat going in and shoo it out.

Usually in the night there is an altercation among the cats and we will hear a cat battle that only lasts seconds.  There are some chickens nearby as well, the rooster crows early and we can hear hens clucking during the day.

The olive harvest continues, a large load went by our patio today, we are located right along a road but there isn’t much traffic.  Although a Spaniard on a horse went by this afternoon, I could hear the hooves long before the horse and rider appeared.

That is it for today, no excitement but we got a lot of things completed.
