Interlude

Today was all about architecture, again.  We don’t tend to burn out on architecture and luckily for us, this is one fantastic city for architecture.  We did a bit of wandering around the Eixample area to look at what draws the tourists, the Moderniste architecture of Domenech, Puig and Gaudi.

Then we came back to the old city and completed a walking tour of one of the areas with a walking guidebook.  We have a really bad habit of speeding along when we walk, but having to read the guidebook and look for streets and house numbers, slowed us down to a crawl.  Along with taking a zillion photos of buildings, we do take a few pics of just everyday stuff.

This blog post is a break from architecture, but it will be back in force tomorrow.  Since tomorrow is a travel day, we should have more time to organize the pics once we get to our destination on the Costa Brava.
Locals playing bocci ball

These kids were singing on the steps of an old convent, some type of marine theme is going on here

Columns of cookies, food is everywhere, we are continually floored by the abundance

Small shops exist in every nook and cranny, this one has very colourful ceramics and stuff
